In order to facilitate a major upgrade to Tinwell Village Hall, from the 16th to the 19th of February the hall will be closed to the public during the day. Local window supplier Orchard Windows, chosen after a lengthy and exhaustive evaluation process, will replaces all the 33-year-old hall windows with secure, state of the art, double glazed uPVC windows. The works will significantly enhance the thermal efficiency of the hall. The new windows will also be far more secure and will make their opening and closing far easier for hall users.

Chas McDevitt, Chair of the Hall Management Committee stated, “This is a major part of our ongoing upgrade to the hall infrastructure. It follows on from the installation of new heaters and solar panels last year. Longer term the committee expects the new windows to markedly reduce our ongoing maintenance expense, by eliminating the costly decorating of the windows every 3-5 years.

The Committee would like to express thanks to David Jarvis, the Parish Clerk, for his assistance with this project. It has been financed in part by Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funds, which are monies held on behalf of the village by RCC. We'd like to acknowledge the part David played in facilitating this and overseeing the efficient and timely release of the funds."

Mark Atkinson of Orchard Windows stated, “I’d like to thank Ian Buckley and the team from Tinwell Village Hall for involving us in the upgrade of the windows. It’s a pleasure to support a project that strengthens the local community and helps with saving energy and improving the security of the property. We are sure that all the hall users will feel the benefit of these works and will do so for many years to come.”
